Job Overview

As Production Manager (2nd shift), you will lead the high-volume production of our innovative EV vehicle platforms during the second shift manufacturing operations. This role requires a skilled, relentless problem-solver and hands-on leader dedicated to operational excellence, safety, quality and productivity in a dynamic, high-pressure environment. You will play a critical role in achieving our mission to redefine sustainable commercial transportation.

What You'll Do:

  • Shift Ownership: 
    • Own all aspects of second shift production, ensuring safe, efficient operation and meeting daily production targets (safety, quality, delivery, cycle time and uptime).
  • Team Leadership: 
    • Lead and develop a team of supervisors and associates. 
    • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Operational Excellence: 
    • Implement and sustain lean manufacturing principles (5S, standardized work) to optimize processes, reduce waste, and maximize throughput.
  • Problem-Solving: 
    • Proactively identify and resolve production bottlenecks. 
    • Implement root cause corrective actions to maintain process stability.
  • Quality & Safety: 
    • Champion a safety-first culture
    • Drive relentless quality assurance, ensuring all vehicles meet exacting standards and addressing deviations immediately.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: 
    • Collaborate effectively with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance and Facilities to resolve issues and successfully implement process changes.
  • Data Analysis: 
    • Utilize production data (OEE, scrap rates) to analyze performance, identify trends, and make informed decisions for operational improvement.

Who You Are

  • Experience: 7-10+ years of progressive leadership experience in high-volume manufacturing, with 5+ years in direct production management. Automotive or EV assembly experience preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, or a related technical experience.
  • Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate large teams under pressure. Strong understanding and practical application of Lean Manufacturing principles. Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Attributes: Highly adaptable, decisive, and possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate issues across all organizational levels.
