Reporting to the Director of Operations Engineering, the Production Manager 2nd Shift

role guides and coordinates activities of employees engaged in the following areas of a manufacturing department: power rack assembly, sub-assembly processes, system integration, electronic card/system testing, and quality assurance. Attain production goals consistent with cost, quality, and delivery requirements. This role is responsible for leading complex manufacturing operations while ensuring process stability, workforce effectiveness, and alignment with customer expectations in a high-volume environment.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Lead swing shift operations across power rack assembly, sub-assembly, system integration, and test, ensuring production targets and customer delivery commitments are met. Apply strong electrical and manufacturing knowledge to support troubleshooting, product builds, and continuous improvement of high-power systems and processes.
  • Partner with Engineering (ME/TE/IE) and cross-functional teams (Planning, Supply Chain, Quality, Logistics) to sustain robust processes, optimize material flow, and ensure operational continuity. Use Industrial Engineering principles to balance lines, improve cycle times, optimize labor, and maximize throughput.
  • Own production planning and execution by prioritizing schedules based on equipment efficiency, material availability, and customer demand. Ensure the right allocation of manpower, equipment, and materials to support a large-scale operation (300+ employees).
  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and frontline teams to drive accountability, engagement, and performance while consistently achieving KPIs such as output, FPY, DPU, productivity, and cost targets.
  • Drive problem-solving through root cause analysis and corrective actions for production, quality, and delivery issues. Lead continuous improvement efforts using Lean methodologies and support cost forecasting and budget planning aligned with AOP.
  • Interface with senior leadership and customers to provide updates, manage escalations, and ensure alignment on deliverables while resolving complex operational challenges through data-driven decision-making and cross-functional collaboration.

Here is some of what you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field) or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of manufacturing leadership; Master's degree (MBA, IE, Operations) preferred and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt strongly desired.
  • Strong experience in power rack assembly, high-power or electro-mechanical manufacturing environments, including sub-assembly and full system builds, with solid electrical knowledge in system integration, power distribution, and test processes.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale operations (300+ employees), including multi-layer organizations with supervisors, along with advanced leadership skills to develop teams and drive performance in fast-paced environments.
  • Deep Industrial Engineering expertise (line balancing, capacity planning, labor optimization) combined with hands-on experience in Lean/Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and influencing skills across Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain, along with proficiency in business tools such as Excel, ERP systems, and data analysis/reporting platforms.
