Job description

Position Summary:
The Production Manager reports directly to the Operations Manager. The Production Manager is responsible for providing plant-wide leadership to supervisors within this position's areas of responsibility and providing support and direction to hourly employees in the manufacturing and/or assembly area(s). This role plans, assigns work, monitors adherence to policies and procedures, coaches and mentors the team, and recommends improvements in production processes and working conditions. This position is responsible for the results of their team, continuous safety focus, process and product quality, workplace organization, product delivery, shift hand off communications and other key performance indicators. In addition, they will ensure that all reports understand and complywith the company's defined standard work practices and safety procedures. They will passionately provide support and training to the team at all levels, foster employee involvement and communication by maintaining the Level 1 boards and facilitate and/or lead daily meetings to provide an environment for continuous improvement of safety and manufacturing processes.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Works directly with supervisors and managers to ensure quality work and efficient production

  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity, and retention

  • Continuously monitors and promotes safety procedures

  • Provides advice and assistance to employees and supervisorson policies, programs, and procedures

  • Stays current on state/federal employment laws and company policies

  • Supports training and development efforts

  • Drives a high level of employee engagement, productivity, and efficiency

  • Participates in supporting special projects with organization-wide impact

  • Additional functions and requirements may be assigned as needed

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering, Business Management, or other related discipline strongly preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years of plant level operations experience in a high-volume, mixed-model production environment is required

  • Strong interpersonal skills and decision making

  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic business environment

  • Demonstrates organizational skills and prioritization

  • Professional management of confidential information

  • Strong conflict resolution skills

  • Excellent coaching skills

  • Willingness to learn

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

Preferred:
  • Ability to converse in Spanish strongly preferred
