Here's the Critical Role You'll Play:

As Poultry Production Manager with hands-on experience in live operations, you will play a critical role in overseeing daily poultry house management and ensuring optimal flock performance. Your technical knowledge of poultry physiology, nutrition, and welfare will guide teams in achieving production, feed efficiency, and mortality goals while maintaining operational excellence and compliance with company standards.


You’ll be responsible for leading production teams, coordinating feed and flock schedules, and ensuring houses are maintained to the highest standards of health, safety, and efficiency.

  • Train, implement, and monitor production policies and goals for feed efficiency, output, and mortality performance
  • Develop and execute annual production schedules, including flock movements, molting, and placement cycles
  • Supervise and train farm and house employees, ensuring proper animal welfare, biosecurity, and operational procedures
  • Collaborate with processing and nutrition teams to align production performance with feed formulation and quality goals
  • Conduct post-mortem inspections, analyze bird health, and provide recommendations for feed and management adjustments
  • Oversee feed control systems and ensure feed utilization aligns with performance objectives
  • Monitor and report weekly production metrics, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Coordinate barn and facility maintenance to ensure proper equipment function and environmental control
  • Maintain pest management and sanitation programs across all facilities
  • Manage and schedule farm personnel while enforcing company policies and safety protocols
  • Ensure compliance with animal welfare, biosecurity, and safety standards; report any deviations promptly
  • Support operational continuity by assisting during staff absences and ensuring all reports and records are completed accurately


Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; post-secondary education or certifications in poultry science, animal science, or agricultural management preferred
  • 1+ years of experience in poultry, livestock, or agricultural production management
  • Proficient in bird health evaluation and post-mortem analysis
  • Knowledge of contagious poultry diseases and prevention methods
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with basic electrical and equipment maintenance knowledge
  • Proficient with computer systems and feed control technologies
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to train and motivate teams
  • Ability to perform in physically demanding environments and respond to on-site issues as needed
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills in fast-paced settings
