Job description

Novella is building AI to protect the largest, most complicated assets in the world. Whether it's a rocket going to space or a skyscraper on the coast, Novella is building the first AI powered specialty insurance brokerage.
The Role
We're seeking an Insurance Recruiter to help us build the best wholesale teams in the country. You'll be in charge of finding and recruiting the best E&S brokers and underwriters across the country.
This isn't typical recruiting. You'll need to deeply understand the E&S wholesale market, know what makes a great producer tick, and be able to sell top talent on the promise of technology. You'll own the full recruiting lifecycle - from sourcing and outreach to closing and onboarding - while building the systems and processes that will scale our recruiting function.
The ideal candidate has recruited in insurance before. They have a network and the drive to find and attract the best talent in insurance.
The Day to Day
  • Own the full-cycle recruiting process for wholesale producer roles: sourcing, screening, interviewing, closing, and onboarding.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of high-quality wholesale producer candidates through direct outreach, networking, referrals, and creative sourcing strategies.
  • Partner with leadership to define ideal candidate profiles, compensation structures, and hiring plans.
  • Develop relationships within the E&S insurance community to build Novella's employer brand and reputation.
  • Build a pipeline of underwriting talent to support our programs group.
  • Create and refine recruiting processes, interview frameworks, and onboarding programs that scale.

What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of recruiting experience, with meaningful time spent hiring in insurance, financial services, or a related industry.
  • Deep understanding of the wholesale insurance market and what makes a successful producer and underwriter.
  • Proven ability to source and close candidates in competitive markets.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills. You can earn trust with senior candidates and keep them engaged throughout long hiring processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple searches simultaneously.
  • Someone flexible who understands every day at an early stage startup is like a decade in the corporate world. We move quickly and do whatever needs to get done no matter your title.
