This key role will be responsible for executing a full-life cycle recruitment strategy to attract top talent across our Insurance and Operations functions in the U.S. and Bermuda. The ideal candidate will leverage strategic sourcing expertise and market insight to shape how we attract, engage, and recruit top talent.
This is a high-impact role requiring strong partnership and stakeholder management skills. The Recruiter will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our organization by connecting top talent with meaningful opportunities. The ideal candidate is passionate about the candidate experience and consistently works to promote a distinctive talent advantage for all stakeholders.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage a recruitment strategy for all non-exempt roles within the Insurance divisions across U.S. & Bermuda with an emphasis on talent pipeline to ensure we meet current and future staffing requirements.

  • Full life-cycle recruitment of non-exempt hires: sourcing, screening & assessment, candidate submittals, manage the interview process, and negotiate offers on behalf of Markel.

  • Administer assessments to selected candidates

  • Provide regular updates and needs calibration to hiring teams and HRBP's.

  • Leverage the company EVP to implement marketing strategies aligned with State National's brand, vision and core values to attract and hire exceptional and diverse talent.

  • Leverage networking skills, as well as Workday Recruiter, social media, job boards, employee referrals, search engine optimization and LinkedIn recruiting tools to pipeline and hire top talent.

  • Represent Markel as an employer of choice at local career fairs and college campuses

About you

  • 2+ years of recruiting, sourcing, or high-volume sales experience. Background in non-exempt/hourly or call center operations recruiting is highly desired

  • Prior experience supporting insurance or financial services recruiting is preferred

  • Can perform all aspects of talent search including leveraging AI tools, internet search optimization, innovative candidate sourcing programs, networking, pre-screening, offer negotiations, and candidate relationship management.

  • Proficiency in utilizing various sourcing techniques, tools, and platforms; including AI, Boolean search, market research, LinkedIn Recruiter, and social media

  • Exceptional client service and candidate relationship management skills required.

  • Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive/confidential information.

  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), Workday preferred.

  • Able to comprehend and apply related federal, state, and local laws
