A QuickBooks certification can enhance your qualifications for bookkeeping or accounting assistant roles, but most employers also require relevant work experience, educational background, or additional accounting skills. An Assistant QuickBooks is a professional who supports businesses or individuals with tasks related to QuickBooks, a popular accounting software. Their responsibilities often include managing financial records, entering transactions, reconciling accounts, generating reports, and assisting with payroll or invoicing within QuickBooks. They help ensure that financial data is accurate and up-to-date, making it easier for companies to track their financial health and comply with tax regulations. The role is evolving to include managing and interpreting automated outputs rather than replacing the entire profession.

Job description

At Tax Resolution Plus, we believe that financial clarity is the foundation of any successful business. We are a growing, forward-thinking tax and accounting firm dedicated to delivering exceptional value to our clients through precision and strategic execution.
We are seeking an organized, tech-savvy Accounting & QuickBooks Specialist to oversee our financial operations. In this role, you will not just manage data; you will take complete ownership of our financial ecosystem, optimize our workflows, and serve as a key partner in our company's ongoing growth.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):
As our QuickBooks expert, you will own the day-to-day financial operations and ensure our records are accurate. Your core responsibilities will include:
  • QuickBooks Management: Maintain, optimize, and oversee our QuickBooks [Online / Desktop] account, ensuring all transactions are accurately categorized and reconciled.
  • Full-Cycle Accounting: Manage Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R), including vendor payments, client invoicing, and collections.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow statements).
  • Bank Reconciliation: Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and merchant processors.
  • Payroll Processing: Manage or assist with payroll processing and ensure accurate tax withholding and reporting.
  • Process Improvement: Identify ways to streamline our accounting workflows, integrate third-party apps with QuickBooks, and improve financial efficiency.
  • Tax Prep Collaboration: Work alongside our EA/external tax team to ensure smooth year-end closing and tax filing.
Who You Are (Qualifications):
  • The QuickBooks Guru: You have at least 1-2 years of hands-on experience working with QuickBooks [Online/Desktop]. (Bonus points if you are a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor!).
  • Accounting Experience You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field (or have equivalent hands-on experience) with 2+ years in an accounting/similar role.
  • Detail-Obsessed: You notice the 50-cent discrepancy that everyone else misses. Accurate data entry and meticulous organization are your strong suits.
  • Tech-Savvy & Analytical: You have strong mathematical and analytical skills with a natural aptitude for technology. You should be highly comfortable navigating modern office technology, advanced Excel spreadsheets, and learning proprietary CRM systems and databases quickly.
  • Great Communicator: You can translate complex financial data into plain English for non-finance team members.
Why You’ll Love Working With Us (Benefits & Perks):
  • Supportive Onboarding & Continuous Learning: While you should bring a strong foundational knowledge of accounting and QuickBooks, you don’t need to be a flawless expert on day one. We provide thorough, paid onboarding tailored to our unique CRM systems and business model. We foster a collaborative environment where asking questions is encouraged, and our team is always ready to support you as you get up to speed.
  • Upward Mobility: We promote from within. Clear, fast-track pathways are available for management and leadership roles.
  • Modern Workspace: Stay energized with ergonomic stand-up desks, a vibrant and musical atmosphere, and a team that celebrates every win.
  • Free Lunch Mondays: Kick off every week with a complimentary team lunch!
  • Culture: A friendly, supportive environment where your voice is heard and your hard work is celebrated.
