Job description

Union County firm seeking seasoned tax professional with experience in preparing personal, corporate and partnership income tax returns to join our firm for tax season. The individual will be responsible for providing a timely, high-quality and accurate work product and will also be expected to demonstrate professionalism at all times to deliver client service excellence.

Responsibilities
• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations and trusts with multi-state reporting requirements
• Perform tax research for complicated client tax issues
• Bookkeeping for monthly, quarterly and annual accounting clients using QuickBooks
• Analyze and reconcile client general ledger accounts
• Prepare and file Forms 1099, sales tax and payroll tax returns, as needed
• An ideal candidate would be able to work independently, meet and/or communicate directly with clients, and prepare complex tax returns
• Provide clerical and administrative support, as needed

Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's (Required)
• Experience: Accounting: 5 + years (Required)
• Tax Experience: 5 + years (Required)
License/Certification: CPA License or EA certification
• Experience working in a CPA firm or small business
• Knowledge of and ability to interpret tax rules and regulations
• Ability to work extra hours as necessary to meet client deliverables
• Strong ability to work independently with minimal direction while exercising good judgment/decision making
• Ability to service multiple client engagements simultaneously
• Ability to demonstrate professionalism at all times and deliver excellent client service
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and pleasant, positive demeanor
• Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Candidates must demonstrate proficiency with Ultra Tax or other similar tax software, as well as QuickBooks online and desktop versions
• Working experience: ADP Run, Paychex Flex, Word and Excel required
• Background check is necessary prior to hiring

25-35 hours per week Jan –April; Saturdays required Feb 15-Apr 15
Hourly rate $35-65 dependent on experience
