Job Title: Tax Preparer & Bookkeeper

Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm


Position Summary

The Tax Preparer & Bookkeeper is responsible for managing both tax preparation and day-to-day financial recordkeeping for the organization. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with tax regulations, and organized bookkeeping processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, knowledgeable in tax laws, and experienced in maintaining financial records.


Key Responsibilities

Tax Preparation & Compliance

  • Gather and review financial information from clients or internal records
  • Prepare and complete accurate tax returns in a timely manner
  • Verify the accuracy of all financial data and tax filings
  • File federal, state, and local tax returns in compliance with deadlines
  • Maintain organized records of all tax-related documents and filings
  • Stay current on changes in tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements


Bookkeeping & Financial Management

  • Handle day-to-day financial recordkeeping to ensure accuracy and organization
  • Track income and expenses to maintain clear financial visibility
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and payment tracking
  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain and update the general ledger
  • Ensure financial data is accurate, up-to-date, and properly documented


Qualifications
