Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable QuickBooks Specialist / Bookkeeper for a growing business in Sacramento, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the daily financial operations, managing accounts payable and receivable, and performing regular reconciliations. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks, a firm grasp of foundational accounting principles, and excellent organizational skills to keep the financial records accurate and up to date.


Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process incoming invoices, handle vendor payments, prepare client billing, and track outstanding receivables to ensure timely collections.
  • Bank & Credit Card Reconciliations: Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements and credit card accounts to maintain accurate balances.
  • Financial Recordkeeping: Record daily financial transactions, categorize expenses, and ensure ledger accuracy within QuickBooks.
  • Payroll & Journal Entries: Assist with processing payroll and preparing routine journal entries.
  • Month-End Close & Reporting: Support the month-end closing process and assist in generating financial statements and management reports.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Research, track, and resolve any accounting discrepancies or ledger errors in a timely manner.
  • Data Security & Compliance: Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure the security of all company and financial data.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 2+ years of professional bookkeeping or general accounting experience.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Solid understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP, double-entry bookkeeping, accrual vs. cash basis).
  • Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Desktop (or QuickBooks Online) or equivalent accounting software.
