As an appointment scheduler in a medical office, your duties include contacting patients about upcoming appointments, directing calls to proper staff members, performing data entry, pulling medical records, and general clerical work. Appointment schedulers also work in marketing positions in other industries such as advertising or finance, scheduling appointments with prospective clients to generate new business. In this role, you may also educate potential clients on products and services, resolve client inquiries and complaints, and perform other administrative duties as needed.
