Job description

Incumbent Training Manager

Transdev is seeking a Training Manager to support our Safety and Training Department in Balitmore, MD. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing training programs that ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.

The Training Manager will partner closely with the Safety Manager to identify training needs, maintain compliance requirements, and ensure all administrative processes and documentation align with federal, state, and company standards. This position plays a key role in promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous learning across the operation.

  • Competitive compensation package of minimum $80,000 – maximum $90,000

Training Manager major responsibilities:

  • Interviews driver candidates, selects drivers based on Contract Manager approval, and/or supervises employees performing this function.
  • Designs and/or delivers training to drivers. Training may include classroom or behind-the-wheel formats

and/or supervising employees engaged in this function.

  • While the focus of the position is on driver hiring and training, employees may also have other safety program responsibilities (e.g., accident investigation, forms compliance, safety meetings, passenger management, analysis, and reporting).
  • Provides behind-the-wheel instruction according to corporate and client specifications in all aspects of vehicle operation and passenger transportation, including defensive driving, service area familiarization, passenger loading, uploading and securement.
  • Conducts classroom training in accordance with corporate and location requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of (3) years’ experience in the passenger transportation industry.
  • California CDL Class B w/Passenger Endorsement
  • Experience in location safety management and/or operations management.
  • Providing quality training, including the creation and management of training materials.
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
  • Work environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors
