Temporary Recruiter information

What is a temporary recruiter?

Temporary recruiters are human resources professionals who are hired on a short-term basis to assist organizations with their hiring needs. They may work as part of a staffing agency or be brought in directly by companies during periods of high recruitment activity, such as seasonal hiring or rapid expansion. Their responsibilities typically include sourcing candidates, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and coordinating the hiring process, all within a set contract period. Temporary recruiters help companies efficiently fill positions without the commitment of hiring a permanent HR staff member. They bring flexibility and expertise to organizations looking to quickly scale or manage fluctuating recruitment demands.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a temporary recruiter?

To thrive as a Temporary Recruiter, you need a solid understanding of talent acquisition, candidate screening, and employment law, usually supported by experience in recruiting or HR. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), HRIS platforms, and sourcing tools like LinkedIn Recruiter is typically required. Exceptional interpersonal skills, adaptability, and strong organizational abilities help build relationships with both candidates and hiring managers. These skills ensure efficient hiring processes, effective candidate placement, and the ability to quickly meet organizational staffing needs.

How does a temporary recruiter typically collaborate with hiring managers during the recruitment process?

As a Temporary Recruiter, you will work closely with hiring managers to understand their specific talent needs and the nuances of each open position. This collaboration often involves regular check-ins to review candidate pipelines, discuss feedback from interviews, and adjust sourcing strategies as needed. Effective communication and responsiveness are key, as the fast-paced nature of temporary recruitment requires quick turnarounds and alignment with the hiring team's expectations. Building trust and maintaining transparency with hiring managers helps ensure successful placements within tight deadlines.

About the Role:

This is a PART-TIME Position with scheduled 5 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Ideal candidate would be located in either Carnesville, GA or Ft. Mitchell, KY but remote work may be possible.

As a Recruiter based in the United States, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, attracting, and hiring top talent to meet the organization's staffing needs across various departments. You will manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from sourcing candidates through multiple channels to coordinating interviews and facilitating offers. Your efforts will directly impact the company's growth and success by ensuring a strong pipeline of qualified candidates for both temporary and permanent positions. You will collaborate closely with hiring managers to understand role requirements and develop effective recruitment strategies tailored to each position. Additionally, you will represent the company at recruiting events and maintain relationships with educational institutions to support college recruiting initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) for managing recruitment workflows.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage candidates and hiring managers.
  • Ability to screen candidates for best fit for the position; considering candidates for all open positions.
  • Ability to manage multiple open positions and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in internet recruiting and social media sourcing techniques.
  • Certification in recruiting or human resources (e.g., AIRS, SHRM-CP).

Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes including job posting, candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer negotiation.
  • Utilize Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) to track candidate progress and maintain accurate recruitment records.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand job requirements and create targeted recruitment strategies.
  • Conduct internet recruiting and leverage social media platforms to identify and engage potential candidates.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies throughout the recruitment process.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with staffing agencies and external partners to support contract and temporary staffing.

Skills:

The required skills such as proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems and staffing services enable you to efficiently manage candidate pipelines and streamline recruitment processes. Your expertise in technical recruiting and contract recruitment allows you to identify specialized talent and fulfill both permanent and temporary staffing needs. College recruiting and participation in recruiting events help you build a diverse and qualified candidate pool by engaging with emerging talent. Internet recruiting skills, including social media sourcing, are essential for reaching passive candidates and expanding outreach beyond traditional channels. Preferred skills like event planning and recruiting certifications further enhance your ability to deliver strategic recruitment solutions and maintain compliance with industry best practices.
