Recruiter / HR Generalist – Skilled Trades in Manufacturing
Location: Greater Flint Area (Onsite)
Contract: 3–6 Months (Potential for Permanent Employment)
Pay: $35–$45/hour

Position Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Skilled Trades Technical Recruiter/HR Generalist to support a growing manufacturing operation. This role will primarily focus on recruiting skilled trades and manufacturing talent while also assisting with day-to-day HR functions.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record recruiting skilled trades positions such as electricians, welders, millwrights, crane operators, maintenance technicians, CNC machinists, and other industrial professionals. This individual should also have experience supporting HR activities including onboarding, employee relations, orientation, and other HR initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the full-cycle recruiting process for skilled trades and manufacturing positions.
  • Source, screen, interview, and hire qualified candidates.
  • Build pipelines for electricians, welders, maintenance technicians, millwrights, crane operators, CNC machinists, and other industrial roles.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs.
  • Coordinate interviews, offers, background checks, and onboarding.
  • Maintain applicant tracking systems and recruiting metrics.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and onboarding.
  • Assist with employee relations, HR documentation, and other HR functions as needed.
  • Support recruiting events and job fairs.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of recruiting experience in manufacturing, industrial, or skilled trades environments.
  • Experience recruiting skilled trades positions including electricians, welders, maintenance technicians, millwrights, crane operators, pipefitters, CNC machinists, and similar roles : REQUIRED.
  • HR Generalist or Human Resources experience preferred.
  • Experience with onboarding, orientation, and employee relations.
  • Strong ATS and sourcing experience.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in the Greater Flint area.
Preferred
  • Staffing agency or high-volume manufacturing recruiting experience.
  • Automotive manufacturing recruiting experience.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or related HR certification is a plus.
