About the role

Muon seeks a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead Muon Space's Programs efforts, responsible for successfully delivering solutions, products, and technology while managing cost and schedule baselines contracts with the U.S. Government and Commercial Organizations. The Program Manager will be a key member of the Mission Engineering team and collaborate closely with Muon Space's engineering, business, legal, finance, and operations departments. You will also support the portfolio's growth by fostering organic growth on existing contracts and supporting captures of new contracts. 

As a Technical Program Manager at Muon Space, you delight our customers and users with high-quality products and solutions delivered on time and on budget, meeting our contractual obligations. You are cognizant of how all the pieces need to come together for successful program execution and can turn that into well-organized roadmaps, schedules, and budgets that you then track throughout the program lifecycle. You will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring successful execution of Muon's contracts that you manage. You will support business development through proposals, RFI responses, customer engagement, and organic growth.

This role is based in San Jose with a hybrid schedule (3 days per week in-office).

Responsibilities
  • Lead a multidisciplinary aerospace development effort, driving day-to-day execution of the program
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to plan and coordinate the resources necessary to execute the program
  • Synchronize a diverse technical team by establishing tools, practices, and process
  • Participate in technical discussions, ask probing questions, and work with the team to pull together scoping, schedules, and solutions to issues
  • Track and report program metrics on schedule, resource, cost, risk, and technical performance
  • Serve as the face of the company to customers, subcontractors and suppliers
Qualifications
  • 5+ years relevant experience in program management
  • B.S. in an engineering discipline, M.S. or Ph.D. preferred
  • Track record of successfully delivering complete systems (hardware, firmware, software, algorithms) on time, to scope, with high quality.
  • Experience in development and/or program management of satellite based systems. Ability to instantiate and manage integrated master schedules.
  • Expertise in modern, cloud-based productivity tools
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with ability to work successfully across all engineering disciplines.
  • Experience in vendor and contract management
Nice-to-have Skills
  • System engineering and experience with inter-discipline technical trade study
  • Experience working with scripting languages (e.g. Python, Julia) and database queries (e..g SQL, BigQuery)  for data integration, analysis, and dashboarding.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, startup environment
  • Experience managing and growing teams
Salary

The salary range for this role is $175,000 - $208,000 plus a competitive equity grant and comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation will be based on skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location as assessed during the interview process.
