Your Specific Responsibilities:

Primary Duties:

  • Retrieve faxes from the Athena as needed for referral processing.
  • Sort incoming referrals by type of referrals by Urgent and Routine referrals.
  • Review Athena EMR for referral duplication.
  • Scan referral requests into Athena, attach to client records and flag to the referral bucket.
  • Compile statistical reports for measuring productivity.
  • Fax routine/stat referrals and medical records including prescriptions and lab reports to the specialty provider.
  • Answer phone calls from providers and clients for referral status or needed documentation to be faxed out.
  • Confirm client eligibility for services through CHEDAS and Change/FMMIS
  • Process all reports to check for services completed and provided
  • Scans and attaches medical records including specialty reports into system to the appropriate reviewers.
  • Ensure timely upload of medical documentation to the record.
  • Supports the processing of referrals for MMU/Bayside and Referral center recommendations.

Secondary Duties:

  • Coordinates with medical home providers, hospitals, and specialty care providers for management of client referrals, approvals, denials and appointment scheduling.
  • Backs up administrative secretary for specialty care services. Also serves as back up to other team members as needed.
  • Provides administrative support and assistance with the duties and training of new hires to specialty care program.
  • Completes mandatory training as scheduled.
  • Submits employee activities report (EARS) in a timely manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to organize files and other records.
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with others.
  • Skilled in working effectively with the public.
  • Ability to record and evaluate data relating to employment or assistance for health care services.
  • Ability to review data for accuracy and completeness.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2+ years' experience working with electronic health records.
  • 2+ years' experience working in a healthcare setting.
  • 2+ years' experience using standard office equipment.
  • 2+ years' experience working with information technology.
  • Preferred Associate's degree.
