We serve the residents of Hamilton County in more ways than you may realize! As the Assistant County Clerk for the Hamilton County Board of County Commissioners, you will provide administrative and operational support essential to the conduct of official Board business and public meetings. In this position, you will coordinate meetings, maintain official records, prepare agendas, resolutions, and related materials, and assist with public records requests and constituent inquiries. You will help ensure the accuracy, transparency, and accessibility of Board actions while serving as a key resource for county officials, employees, and the public.
Summary of Job Duties:
  • Performs routine and confidential administrative support duties, including preparing meeting materials, managing communications, updating the website, answering phones, coordinating audiovisual equipment, and hosting virtual meetings.
  • Accurately enters, records, and digitizes information in electronic databases and records systems.
  • Files, retrieves, and provides records and information to the public and county agencies, while processing records requests in compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
  • Copies, organizes, and distributes documents and informational materials.
  • Serves as Deputy Clerk by performing Clerk duties in the Clerk’s absence, including preparing meeting minutes, recording votes, coordinating meetings and public hearings, attending official meetings and executive sessions, and sending reminder notices.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 6 months related office experience
  • The above qualifications may be substituted by equivalent combinations of training and/or experience which evidences an advanced knowledge of office practices and procedures and applicable computer applications/systems
