KI has an opening for a Director of Benefits and Payroll at our Corporate headquarters in Green Bay, WI. This onsite position is responsible for strategic, tactical and management activities associated with our organization's benefits and payroll.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of benefits and payroll including regulations, compliance and strategy for a multi-state or global organization. Strong project management experience, advanced knowledge of Dayforce, or a relevant human capital management (HCM) system, and experience utilizing business insight to impact, influence and support business partners across the organization is required.
Responsibilities
  • Benefits and Payroll Leadership/Oversight:
    • Provides leadership in the development, planning, implementation, assessment and continuous improvement of benefit programs and payroll processing functions that are consistent with the company's compensation philosophy, culture, vision and values
    • Ensure all benefits plans and payroll processes are compliant with current regulations
    • Maintains and makes certain that current documentation outlining internal processes and procedures are in place
    • Manages vendor and consultant relationships including administration, service and performance
    • Utilize appropriate means of communication to support employees' understanding and appreciation of benefit plans and payroll processes
  • Team Management:
    • Cross-train to ensure no gaps in service
    • Train and mentor staff
    • Responsible for personnel matters including adherence to corporate policies, employee recognition, conflict resolution and disciplinary action
    • Set and communicate individual staff performance expectations and periodically review actual performance against expected performance
    • Act as an ambassador for our culture of value integration and continuous improvement
  • Advisory Services:
    • Utilize business insight to impact, influence, and support business partners
    • Provide guidance to other functional areas related to benefits administration, leave management, and payroll administration

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree AND minimum 7 years relevant work experience, with 5 years direct responsibility for benefits and payroll administration in a multi-site organization with at least 500 employees
  • Current relevant certifications are strongly preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employee health and welfare programs, policies, procedures and regulations
  • Strong knowledge of payroll and HCM systems, experience with Dayforce, or related HCM system
