We are looking for a Payroll Clerk to support payroll and related administrative operations for an on-site team in Hawaii. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can manage recurring payroll cycles, maintain accurate employee records, and handle reporting obligations with a high degree of confidentiality and precision. The role works closely with internal staff and external partners to keep payroll, benefits tracking, and compliance documentation current and organized. Due to the nature of the work and onsite requirements, preference will be given to Hawaii residents. Applicants should be able to reliably commute or reside within the region to meet business needs. Responsibilities:
• Process weekly and semi-monthly payroll cycles with accuracy and ensure employees are paid on time.
• Enter, review, and maintain timekeeping, earnings, deductions, and other payroll-related information in the accounting system.
• Update payroll records to reflect tax changes, wage adjustments, and union-related pay requirements as applicable.
• Prepare deduction summaries, certified payroll documents, and recurring reports tied to payroll activity and benefit programs.
• Compile workers’ compensation, unemployment, and other compliance-related filings, including annual safety documentation.
• Support year-end payroll administration by assisting with W-2 preparation and related reconciliations.
• Maintain employee files, onboarding paperwork, and payroll records in a secure and organized manner throughout the document lifecycle.
• Respond to payroll discrepancies and administrative issues promptly while providing support by phone and in the office.
• Generate scheduled payroll and financial reports for outside accounting contacts and assist with other office duties as needed.
• Associate degree or higher in Accounting or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of payroll experience, including full-cycle payroll processing.
• Working knowledge of payroll deductions, garnishments, and reporting requirements.
• Experience using payroll or accounting software; familiarity with Sage 300 is preferred.
• Strong accuracy, organization, and attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with internal teams and external contacts.
• Sound judgment in handling confidential employee and payroll information.
• Availability to work on-site Monday through Friday during regular daytime business hours.
