Job description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to support payroll operations for a large employee population in South Euclid, Ohio. This Contract position will focus on accurate wage processing, union payroll administration, and multi-state payroll support in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience managing full-cycle payroll while ensuring compliance with deductions, garnishments, and applicable payroll rules.
Responsibilities:
• Process full-cycle payroll for a workforce of approximately 1,000 employees with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness.
• Administer union payroll activities, including applying contract-related pay rules and maintaining proper payroll records.
• Handle multi-state payroll transactions while following applicable tax withholdings and jurisdictional requirements.
• Review payroll data for completeness, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues before final submission.
• Manage employee deductions and garnishments in accordance with legal requirements and internal payroll procedures.
• Maintain payroll documentation and support reporting needs related to earnings, deductions, and employee pay records.
• Collaborate with internal partners to address payroll questions and ensure smooth weekly or periodic payroll processing.• At least 2 years of payroll experience in a high-volume processing environment.
• Practical experience managing full-cycle payroll from data review through final pay distribution.
• Familiarity with payroll administration for employee populations ranging from 101 to 500 or more.
• Experience supporting union payroll and interpreting pay rules tied to labor agreements.
• Knowledge of payroll garnishments, deductions, and related compliance requirements.
• Ability to process multi-state payroll accurately and maintain confidentiality with sensitive employee data.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet strict payroll deadlines.
