The Opportunity

The Learning & Development Coordinator plays an important role in supporting the day-to-day administration and execution of Thermo Systems' employee learning and development programs.

This role serves as the operational backbone of the Learning & Development function, helping ensure training records are accurate, programs are well coordinated, employees receive timely communications, and learning activities run smoothly across the organization. Key responsibilities include Learning Management System (LMS) administration, training recordkeeping and reporting, program logistics, scheduling, communications, onboarding support, and maintenance of learning resources.

Working closely with the Senior Learning & Development Specialist, the Coordinator will also assist with the creation and maintenance of training content and materials and provide support with select training facilitation as needed. This role offers hands-on exposure to instructional design, facilitation, leadership development, onboarding, and broader talent development initiatives for someone interested in growing their career in Learning & Development.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with systems and data, and enjoys creating structure behind programs that help employees learn and grow.

What Youll Do

Core Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and administer Thermo's learning and development programs, including scheduling, logistics, communications, enrollment tracking, attendance management, and program follow-up.

  • Manage the day-to-day administration of the Learning Management System (LMS), including course assignments, learning paths, certifications, reporting, and learner records.

  • Support ownership and execution of the onboarding journey, ensuring a consistent experience for all new hires from preboarding through early integration.

  • Coordinate leadership development programs including Leadership Basecamp, Ascent, manager training, mentoring programs, and future leadership initiatives.

  • Serve as backup support for the creation, maintenance, and updating of employee-facing learning materials, including PowerPoint presentations, facilitator guides, participant workbooks, communications, job aids, and reference materials, as needed.

  • Assist with instructional design and content development for internal learning programs by organizing content, developing materials, and ensuring a professional and engaging learner experience.

  • Build and maintain training resources, learning libraries, SharePoint sites, templates, and development tools.

  • Coordinate and track employee participation, completion rates, certifications, continuing education activities, and development programs.

  • Generate learning, development, and participation reports for People & Culture leadership and business stakeholders.

  • Coordinate employee development communications, registrations, reminders, surveys, evaluations, and follow-up activities.

  • Support leadership development initiatives delivered through external partners by coordinating schedules, logistics, participant communications, materials, and tracking.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential learning records and documentation.

  • Support administration of mentorship, recognition, career development, and employee growth programs.

  • Recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency, learner experience, scalability, and reporting accuracy.

  • Serve as a learning ambassador across the company, promoting development opportunities and supporting a culture of continuous learning.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner with leaders, managers, employees, Talent Acquisition, and People Operations to support onboarding and employee development activities.

  • Coordinate with external learning vendors, training partners, facilitators, and consultants to ensure successful program delivery.

  • Communicate learning opportunities, timelines, expectations, and program resources clearly and professionally.

  • Provide excellent customer service and support regarding learning programs, development opportunities, LMS access, and employee inquiries.

  • Assist facilitators and presenters with session preparation, materials, technology setup, and participant support.

Quality, Process & Governance

  • Maintain accurate and timely training records, learner data, certifications, and completion documentation.

  • Ensure compliance-related training records are properly tracked and maintained.

  • Support LMS governance and learning content management processes.

  • Maintain organized repositories of learning materials, presentations, templates, recordings, and development resources.

  • Ensure consistent branding, quality, and professionalism across learning materials and communications.

  • Support continuous improvement efforts through learner feedback, program evaluations, participation data, and stakeholder input.

  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling employee development information.

What We're Looking For

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, Communications, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

  • 3-5+ years of experience in learning and development, training coordination, talent development, employee experience, education administration, HR, or a related field.

  • Experience coordinating training programs, onboarding programs, continuing education programs, or learning initiatives.

  • Experience administering learning management systems, training databases, or HR technology platforms.

  • Experience creating presentations, training materials, communications, documentation, or instructional content.

  • Experience managing multiple projects, schedules, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.

  • Facilitation or presentation experience preferred but not required.

  • Experience using course creation tools to develop training modules, iSpring Suite is a plus but not required.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong project coordination and program administration abilities.

  • Advanced PowerPoint and Microsoft Office skills.

  • Strong written communication and presentation development capabilities.

  • Instructional design or learning content creation experience preferred.
