Document Control Assistant
Kansas City, MO
Long-Term Contract Opportunity
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Document Control Assistant to support engineering project teams in Kansas City, MO. This role will work closely with Project Managers and document control personnel to ensure accurate processing, tracking, and distribution of project documentation across multiple engineering projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative and document management experience who thrives in a fast-paced project environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the document control team and Project Managers with project documentation and data management
  • Support setup and coordination for multiple small projects and assist with larger projects as needed
  • Help establish and maintain document control standards and procedures
  • Communicate document management procedures to internal project teams
  • Coordinate project documentation with engineers and project stakeholders
  • Compile and maintain electronic project data books
  • Issue document transmittals to clients and vendors
  • Process vendor submittals and maintain accurate records
  • Package and distribute electronic documents for clients, vendors, and internal teams
  • Troubleshoot and communicate document-related issues with vendors and clients
  • Monitor project workflows and maintain organized filing systems
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards
  • Perform additional administrative and project support duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 3+ years of applicable document control, administrative, or project support experience preferred
  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Access
  • Accurate and efficient data entry skills required
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
Preferred Skills
  • Experience supporting engineering, construction, or technical project teams
  • Familiarity with document management systems and electronic filing processes
  • Ability to work independently while supporting cross-functional teams
