Position: Document Control Aide

Location: 900 Old Augusta Central Rd., Rincon, GA 31326 ONSITE
Duration: Temporary – 1 to 3 months (duration may vary based on project scope)
Client: Southern Company Services.

 


Position Summary

The Document Control Aide provides short-term support for organizing, researching, and maintaining engineering records within a plant file room environment. This role focuses on clearing, organizing, and digitizing or boxing engineering drawings and vendor documentation stored on moveable shelving units.

The ideal candidate has prior experience with engineering records or document control, strong attention to detail, and is comfortable performing hands-on file room work in an industrial or plant setting.


Primary Responsibilities

Document Control & Records Management

  • Organize and manage engineering drawings and vendor documentation within the plant file room
  • Conduct detailed research using the records management system to locate and verify documents
  • Ensure accurate data entry and documentation updates
  • Support cleanup, consolidation, and boxing of historical engineering records

File Room Operations

  • Retrieve, organize, and box engineering files stored on moveable shelving units
  • Lift and relocate boxes weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Use a step ladder or stool as needed to access higher shelving
  • Maintain orderly file room layout and labeling

Collaboration & Administration

  • Collaborate regularly with plant personnel, document control teams, and records management staff
  • Follow guidance and established records management procedures
  • Maintain accurate personal timekeeping using the company’s timekeeping system

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience working with document control or engineering records
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings and vendor documentation
  • Foundational understanding of records management practices
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Comfortable performing physical tasks in a file room environment
  • Ability to follow procedures and work independently when required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move boxes up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and reach for extended periods
  • Occasional climbing using a small ladder or stool
