What You'll Do

Teradata seeks a Competitive Intelligence Analyst who will transform competitive insights into actionable business advantages. With primary focus on Databricks and additional coverage of Google BigQuery and IBM, you'll be responsible for delivering strategic insights that drive revenue and market position. This isn't just about data collection - it's about turning competitive intelligence into winning strategies across product, marketing, and sales teams.

You'll work across the entire organization, serving as THE expert on Databricks while maintaining comprehensive knowledge of BigQuery and Cloudera. Your role extends beyond research and analysis to becoming a trusted advisor who helps shape product strategy, influences go-to-market approaches, and enables sales success. You'll translate complex technical differentiators into compelling narratives that resonate with prospects, partners, and systems integrators.

Responsibilities

  • Own competitive intelligence gathering and analysis for Databricks (primary) and Google BigQuery and IBM watsonx, delivering actionable insights that drive business decisions

  • Conduct comprehensive research using both internal sources (sales teams, product teams) and external sources (social media, competitor websites, industry analysts, conferences)

  • Apply GenAI tooling - including Claude, Copilot, Gemini, and Crayon - to accelerate research workflows, expand coverage capacity, and maintain consistent analytical output across the coverage portfolio

  • Develop and maintain structured prompt libraries for repeatable CI research and content development workflows

  • Monitor competitor activity and market signals using agentic AI monitoring tools, with disciplined source verification and factual accuracy as a non-negotiable standard for all work product

  • Create and maintain competitive battlecards, deep dives, and sales enablement materials that directly impact competitive win rates

  • Collaborate with marketing to develop differentiated positioning and messaging

  • Provide real-time competitive sales support for high-stakes GTM opportunities

  • Develop and deliver competitive training and enablement programs for global sales teams

  • Maintain and evolve the competitive intelligence knowledge base

  • Present competitive insights and recommendations to executive leadership

Who You'll Work With

You will partner with product management to influence roadmap decisions based on competitive analysis, with particular depth in agentic AI architectures and vector datastore competitive dynamics.

What Makes You a Qualified Candidate

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Business, Marketing, Technology, or similar)

  • 5+ years of experience in competitive intelligence, market research, product marketing, or industry analysis

  • Understanding of the modern data and AI landscape - analytical platforms, machine learning infrastructure, and agentic AI architectures

  • Knowledge of vector datastores and open table formats (Iceberg, Delta, Hudi) as competitive subject matter

  • Hands-on familiarity with GenAI tooling as a research and productivity methodology - including large language models, prompt engineering, and agentic monitoring platforms such as Crayon

  • Experience with the enterprise software sales cycle and competitive deal dynamics

  • Proven track record of enabling sales teams in competitive situations

  • Knowledge of the cloud ecosystem including public cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments

  • Travel may be required up to 15% of the time.

Pay Rate: 156400.0000 - 195600.0000 - 234700.0000 Annually

Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on geographic location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and candidate experience. Sales roles will be eligible for commission payments tied to quota achievement. All other permanent roles will be eligible for one of our annual incentive plans, which are based on company financial attainment and individual performance.
