Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Legal Operations team. This position supports and advances the Firm's business development activities and the effective use of data throughout the Firm, enabling personnel to make accurate, informed business decisions for the Firm and our clients.
This role reports directly to the Director of Research and Knowledge Management and works closely with Legal Operations, Marketing & Business Development, Firm leadership, and attorneys. The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will lead the continued development of the Firm's business intelligence program, deliver high-quality research and analysis, and serve as a trusted advisor on strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Include:
* Lead and continuously improve the Firm's business intelligence program aligned with strategic and operational goals.
* Serve as a senior advisor delivering high-impact business, industry, and competitive intelligence to Firm leadership, Marketing & Business Development, client teams, and practice groups.
* Synthesize complex research and data into clear, actionable insights, tailored to attorneys and leadership for practical decision-making.
* Work closely with Marketing & Business Development and practice leaders to support pitches, client targeting, and strategic initiatives.
* Serve as a trusted advisor on sensitive and high-profile initiatives, providing insight into data sources, accuracy, and application.
* Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI) that support consistent, firmwide insights and day-to-day decision-making.
* Evaluate and direct the adoption of research and intelligence tools, ensuring alignment with firm strategy and measurable impact.
* Advance the practical use of AI in research and competitive intelligence workflows, identifying useful applications and helping colleagues incorporate them into their work.
* Establish metrics and feedback systems to measure effectiveness and continuously improve business intelligence services.
* Champion strong data governance, consistency, and practical data use through cross-functional collaboration.
* Direct and enhance the Firm's competitive intelligence and alerting strategy, ensuring timely and actionable insights reach key stakeholders.
* Provide training and guidance to attorneys and staff on effective use of business intelligence tools and research resources.
* This position requires 2 days/week in our Minneapolis office.


Our Ideal Candidates Will Have:

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences, including Firm leadership
* Executive presence and strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish credibility and build rapport across all levels of the organization
* Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities independently in a fast-paced environment with strong time management skills
* 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, competitive intelligence, research, or a closely related field
* Experience in a law firm, consulting firm, or similar professional services environment strongly preferred
* Experience with research, intelligence, and alerting resources such as PitchBook, Capital IQ, CasePortal, and Westlaw, and Harvey preferred
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
* Bachelor's degree required
* Advanced degree (Master's Degree in Library & Information Science (MLIS) or JD) strongly preferred.

The estimated starting salary range for this position is $100,000 - $115,000 per year. The compensation offered will be dependent on the candidate's experience, skills, education, professional background, and overall qualifications.
