Collections Specialist

Responsibilities:

  • Collections Specialist will make outbound collections calls.
  • Collections Specialist will make calls based on the aging buckets provided (e.g. a patient balance could be newer or about to go to collections. Calling the patient to get paid in full or put on a payment plan)
  • Collections Specialist will make 50-60 calls/day or 250-300 calls weekly.
  • Collections Specialist role will be patient focused role. (Collections Specialist will not be speaking with insurance.
  • Collections Specialist will complete ad hoc tasks and projects, as requested

Requirements:

  • Experience in medical collections or AR experience in insurance – must be able to explain to the patient why a cost wasn’t covered by insurance.
  • Should have experience with a medical collections software (Epic, Modernizing Medicine, ModMed, etc.)
  • Previous AR experience
  • Basic Excel experience – ability to update a spreadsheet
