Job description

VPL is in search of an Associate Account Manager. This role is a great next step for someone who has built a strong foundation in customer success and account support and is ready to begin owning customer relationships. The Associate Account Manager manages a portfolio of accounts serving primarily community hospitals, ASCs, small regional facilities, and university affiliates.

You'll be responsible for cultivating strong customer relationships, understanding account performance, and identifying opportunities for helping customers realize the most value from their partnership with VPL. You will lead customer engagements and deliver reporting and insights that will position you as a trusted resource for your customers, as you continue to grow your strategic account management skills.

What You'll Do

  • Own Customer Relationships - Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, building strong relationships and ensuring customers feel satisfied with the VPL service.
  • Manage Account Performance - Monitor account health, key metrics, utilization, savings, supplier penetration, and other performance indicators to spotlight trends and opportunities.
  • Lead Customer Meetings - Develop reports and presentations and lead customer touchpoints, providing account updates, reviewing performance, and coordinating next steps.
  • Document Customer Interactions - Leverage Salesforce to manage contacts, opportunities, and issues and capture key context from your interactions with your customers.
  • Turn Data Into Action - Analyze customer data and translate findings into actionable recommendations that create additional value.
  • Solve Customer Challenges - Own day-to-day customer issues through resolution, collaborating with Sales, Operations, Product, and other internal teams to ensure customer needs are understood and addressed.
  • Support Retention and Contract Renewals - Identify opportunities to extend VPL's relationship with assigned accounts and partner with leadership, Account Management colleagues, and Sales to construct and present renewal proposals.
  • Improve How We Work - Identify opportunities and take tailored action to improve the overall experience for customers within your portfolio.

What You'll Bring

  • 1-3 years of experience in account management, customer success, client services, healthcare, logistics, SaaS, or a related field.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Comfort leading customer conversations and presenting information clearly.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and turn insights into action.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a willingness to take ownership through resolution.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with CRM or account management tools preferred.
  • A proactive mindset-you don't just identify a problem; you help figure out what we should do about it.
  • Desire to continue developing strategic account management and customer leadership skills.
