Role Overview

The Associate Account Director supports the strategic and relationship management of assigned client accounts. This role works closely with Account Directors to help ensure client work is thoughtful, well-coordinated, and aligned to business goals.


Other roles on your team will include: Account Director (team manager), Search Marketer, Content Marketer, Advertising Specialist, and Designer.


Ultimately, this role gains exposure to the decision-making and leadership required to manage accounts successfully, and gradually takes on more ownership of client accounts.


Key Responsibilities

Support Account Directors in Client Support & Communication

  • Participate in client meetings, contributing insights and taking increasing ownership as experience grows
  • Draft client communications, agendas, and recaps with clarity and accuracy
  • Anticipate client questions, risks, and follow-ups


Strategy & Planning Support

  • Assist in developing and executing account strategies aligned to client goals
  • Review performance data and contribute observations and questions
  • Help translate client priorities into clear direction for your team
  • Contribute to strategic roadmaps, scopes of work, and regular reporting
  • Over time, take increasing ownership of strategic recommendations and planning cycles


Account Coordination & Execution

  • Lead project planning and delivery
  • Keep timelines, priorities, and expectations clear
  • Surface risks, misalignment, or scope concerns early
  • Support account organization, documentation, and follow-through


Internal Collaboration

  • Facilitate discussions among your team's specialists - drawing out their expertise to identify strong client solutions
  • Mentor junior team members through coaching, feedback, and day-to-day support


Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in account management, marketing, client services, or a related role
  • Agency experience preferred
  • Experience contributing to client strategy or reporting
  • Competent understanding of search, content marketing, advertising, and how these channels work together
  • Strong analytical thinking
