Position Summary:

Job Description:

Position: Western Colorado University invites applications for the full-time position of Student Success Librarian - Public Services. The position reports to the Director of Library Services, works closely with students and faculty, and is responsible for providing vision and direction for Leslie J. Savage Library's information literacy program as well as strengthening the library's role in supporting teaching, learning, and research.

Responsibilities: The Student Success Librarian - Public Services is responsible for:

Information Literacy

Lead and participate in designing, delivering, and assessing information literacy instruction to liberal arts students.

Explore innovative teaching methods and technologies to advance and expand the library's information literacy program.

Outreach and Engagement

Develop and maintain partnerships across campus to promote library services, the library as a partner in facilitating student success, and identify opportunities to enhance library offerings.

Collaborate with academic departments and other campus partners to integrate library resources and services into the curriculum and student support initiatives.

Contribute to the development of co-curricular and extra-curricular library programming and coordinate with library staff and campus marketing to publicize events and classes.

Serve as a liaison to assigned subject areas, providing collection development, library instruction, and research assistance.

Public Services

Provide reference service and research assistance via in-person and remote consultations and assist with circulation tasks as needed at the combined reference/circulation desk.

Promote and enhance equitable and inclusive access to library materials and services.

Serve on University committees and participate in professional development activities.

Perform other duties as assigned per library and university strategic objectives.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program or international equivalent; experience providing instructional support; strong communication and collaboration skills; and the ability to work independently within a dynamic team setting.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with emerging technologies and/or social networking software as they apply to enhancing and promoting library services.

Compensation: This full-time, FLSA exempt position offers an annual base salary rate of $52,000 to $56,000. Western offers an excellent benefits package including shared premiums for a comprehensive health insurance plan, dental insurance, retirement plan, life insurance, and other insurance options. After one year of employment, Western provides free tuition for dependents enrolled full time in undergraduate programs for up to four years.
