Join our team! We're looking for a customer-focused, Library Associate to support daily library operations and enhance services for our Youth community.
Position: Full-Time Library Associate - Youth - Carbondale Branch Library
Hours: 40 hours/week
Pay: $23.31-28.34/hour (based on library specific experience)

About the Role:
Join GCPLD and make a positive impact by supporting Youth services at our Carbondale Branch.
The Carbondale Branch Library is looking for a Youth Services Associate who enjoys the energy and occasional chaos of elementary and middle school-aged kids. This position will lead fun and meaningful activities, build relationships with young patrons, visit schools, and help kids see the library as a place where they belong. In addition to providing regular library services for patrons of all ages, this position's special focus is creating welcoming, creative, and engaging experiences for school-aged kids.
In this role, you will:
Supports the Youth Services Coordinator with patron services, programming, events, and outreach. Performs storytime in the absence of the Youth Services Coordinator. May help plan and lead teen programs and teen outreach. May assist with juvenile and young adult collection maintenance.
Who You Are:
Customer-focused, empathetic, and able to build positive relationships with patrons and coworkers.
Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to manage time effectively.
Comfortable working with diverse patrons of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.
Willing to learn, adapt to change, and take initiative.
We are seeking someone with full availability to be part of the weekend rotation and work one evening a week until 7pm.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
One year of clerical or customer service experience preferred, with proficiency in technology (Microsoft Suite, Apple products, and web browsers).
Associate's degree or higher is a plus, but not required.
Bilingual Spanish/English skills a plus
