Assist the Durango Public Library team by
checking in, organizing, and re-shelving Library materials as a part-time Materials Handler.

Essential Job Duties
What You'll Do in This Role:
- Provide friendly, proactive, and knowledgeable assistance to Library patrons.
- Sort and shelve Library materials.
- Ensure that materials are shelved in their proper order.
- Answer basic directional questions and refer patrons with other inquiries to the appropriate service desk.
- Adhere to Library policies and procedures.
- Assist in providing a secure environment for patrons, staff, and library materials.
- Answer the Library telephone and direct calls to the appropriate staff or department.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
Minimum Qualifications
You Have:
- Minimum of two years high school education.
- A basic understanding of the Dewey Decimal System and the alphabet.
- The ability to follow oral and written instructions.
You Will Succeed in This Role if You:
- Are committed to delivering positive, friendly customer service.
- Understand the role of the library and are eager to learn its daily procedures.
