Description
Diagnostics Validation Intern
The Diagnostics Validation Intern will support vehicle- and component-level diagnostics implementation and validation for the Eagle program. This role contributes directly to improved launch readiness, serviceability, and software release quality by validating diagnostic tools, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating diagnostics requirements across internal teams and suppliers.
The internship provides hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics, validation processes, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced OEM launch environment.
Internship Objectives & Business Value
Improved Launch & Service Readiness
  • Validate diagnostic implementations using UDS protocols, reducing post-launch troubleshooting and service risk.
  • Strengthen reliability of diagnostic tools (DT-4, KarmaSync) used across vehicle and component testing.
Faster Validation & Issue Resolution
  • Add validation bandwidth to support diagnostics troubleshooting across multiple test platforms.
  • Assist with software validation and release activities, accelerating Eagle program timelines.
Supplier & System Alignment
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure complete and accurate component-level diagnostics.
  • Support integration between DT-4 diagnostic tools and Karma server environments.
Internship Details
  • Duration: 12 weeks
  • Timing: May/June start through August/September end
  • Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):
  • Validate diagnostic tools (DT-4, KarmaSync) at both vehicle and component levels.
  • Support diagnostics troubleshooting and software validation activities.
  • Coordinate diagnostics data, requirements, and validation status with suppliers and vendors.
  • Assist with validation processes and software releases for the Eagle program and other programs, as applicable.
  • Support documentation of diagnostics test results, issues, and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with software, systems, validation, and service teams to support diagnostics readiness.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • Pursuing aBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Interest in automotive software, diagnostics, or vehicle systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
Preferred Qualification:
  • Exposure to automotive diagnostics concepts (UDS, CAN, or similar protocols).
  • Familiarity with vehicle testing, validation processes, or diagnostic tools.
  • Experience working with suppliers or cross-functional technical teams through coursework or projects.
  • Interest in vehicle launch activities, service readiness, and software quality.

Compensation:
$25.00/per hour - $35.00/per hour. Compensation will vary depending on the candidate's current level of education.
At Karma, our base pay is one part of our total rewards package.
