The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Job Description

NextGear Capital, a Cox Automotive company, is hiring an Operations Analyst II. This Operations Analyst II is responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness of departmental and organizational operations through analysis, process improvement, enablement, project execution, operational readiness, and strong business process knowledge. The Operations Analyst II will collaborate with Operations stakeholders, senior leaders, and cross-functional partners to support strategies and initiatives that primarily impact Client Facing Operations teams. This role requires a balanced mix of reporting capability, process ownership, project execution, and enablement skills. The ideal candidate can work confidently with large datasets, build and maintain reporting tools, translate information into practical business insights, and independently create clear, actionable recommendations. Equally important, the candidate should be a proactive self-starter who can develop and improve processes with limited guidance, manage competing priorities, communicate effectively with leaders and partner teams, and support adoption through documentation, training, communications, and operational follow-through. Power BI experience is preferred and would be beneficial for expanding reporting and dashboard capabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and project manage key enablement, operational readiness, reporting, and process improvement initiatives, translating ideas into action and executing strategies across multiple functions to drive business efficiency and Operations productivity.

  • Own, enhance, and maintain recurring reporting, scorecards, trackers, and operational dashboards that support Portfolio Management, Field Services, Audit Operations, and leadership decision-making.

  • Partner with Operations stakeholders, senior leaders, and cross-functional departments to gather needs, clarify objectives, align on priorities, and deliver practical solutions that support business execution.

  • Build and maintain Excel-based reporting solutions using tools such as Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, complex formulas, Power Query, data validation, conditional formatting, charts, and dashboard layouts.

  • Analyze trends, risks, opportunities, operational performance drivers, and process gaps; translate findings into actionable business recommendations and process improvements.

  • Identify problems or opportunities, conduct research, recommend solutions, and collaborate with stakeholders to implement decisioned solutions with minimal direction.

  • Streamline manual reporting, tracking, or operational processes where appropriate to reduce rework, improve accuracy, increase scalability, and create repeatable ways of working.

  • Leverage strong business knowledge to make recommendations and decisions on behalf of the business when needed, synthesizing complex information into concise, leadership-ready summaries.

  • Support process improvement implementation through education, training, adoption support, documentation, communications, stakeholder engagement, or other enablement methods.

  • Support enablement and operational readiness activities by coordinating materials, communications, training resources, launch checklists, process documentation, and follow-up actions that help teams adopt new processes, tools, and initiatives.

  • Support recurring team meetings by preparing agendas, presentations, data summaries, meeting materials, notes, and action-item tracking to promote alignment and execution.

  • Manage multiple priorities within tight timeframes while maintaining strong attention to detail and data integrity.

Participate in occasional onsite meetings, training sessions, or business events; travel may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS degree in a related field with 2+ years of related work experience. A candidate may also have a MS degree and up to 2 years of experience. A nondegreed candidate will have 6+ years od experience..

  • Prior work experience in the auto or financial services industry is preferred but not required.

  • Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills required.

  • Ability to adapt to and work effectively within a constantly changing environment.

  • Excellent customer service, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills are required.

Required Business Enablement, Reporting & Technical Skills
  • Advanced Excel proficiency is required.

  • MS Office, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Teams

  • Demonstrated ability to work with large datasets, validate data accuracy, identify patterns, and convert raw data into actionable insights.

  • Power BI experience, including building or maintaining dashboards, data models, or KPI scorecards strongly preferred

  • Experience with Power Query, Tableau, Salesforce reporting, or similar data transformation and business intelligence tools preferred

  • Experience supporting operational, portfolio management, audit, field services, or business performance teams through enablement, readiness, process documentation, and stakeholder support.

  • Experience creating executive dashboards, automated trackers, self-service reporting solutions, recurring performance packages, process guides, training resources, or launch materials.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Applies knowledge of economic, financial, market, and industry trends to enhance individual, workgroup, and organizational performance.

  • Detail oriented with excellent analytic skills and a strong interest in identifying, fixing, and organizing solutions to business problems.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams, with the ability to gain proficiency in other role-specific software. Salesforce experience is a plus.

  • Strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate data into concise business stories for non-technical audiences.

  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with the ability to lead through influence and navigate effectively within the organization to deliver results.

  • Ability to maintain a client-centric and field-support mindset while balancing operational efficiency, risk awareness, and business priorities.

  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple projects, reporting deliverables, and initiatives at the same time.

  • Ability to gather needs, analyze existing practices, provide recommendations, and implement new or improved processes
