Sales Data Analyst
Position Summary
The Sales Data Analyst supports the sales and marketing teams by analyzing sales data, maintaining reporting tools, and helping to ensure accurate, consistent data across systems. This position plays a key role in generating reports, monitoring product and customer performance, and providing basic forecasts that help inform business decisions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with large datasets, and able to produce clear, organized reports that support day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Performance Analysis
  • Monitor brand and SKU-level sales to identify trends or concerns.
  • Analyze customer purchasing patterns to support account-level strategy.
  • Help assess sales performance by product category and region.

Reporting and Dashboards
  • Assist with creating and updating sales reports and dashboards using Power BI.
  • Maintain and organize recurring reports to support business needs.
  • Translate basic reporting requests from the sales team into usable outputs.

Data Accuracy and Maintenance
  • Support efforts to ensure sales and product data is accurate and up to date.
  • Conduct data validation and flag any inconsistencies for correction.
  • Assist with periodic reviews of product information, including UPCs, descriptions, and categories.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work with sales and marketing staff to gather data and align reporting with goals.
  • Provide simple analyses to support pricing strategies, sales campaigns, and promotions.
  • Participate in basic reviews of sales performance and help identify opportunities.

Forecasting Support
  • Help prepare sales trends and assist with building forecasts using historical data.
  • Consider seasonal or external factors in basic forecast estimates.

Qualifications
Education amp; Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred
  • 1–3 years of experience in a data, reporting, or sales analysis role
  • Experience in wholesale, distribution, or the grocery/CPG industry is a plus

Skills amp; Competencies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working with numerical data
  • Basic understanding of data validation and reporting processes
  • Ability to organize and present data in a clear and useful format
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Comfortable working in a cross-functional team environment
