Job description

Sales Commissions Analyst
Location: US-Remote / Hybrid

About the Role

Black Duck is seeking a detailoriented and analytically driven Sales Commissions Analyst to support the administration and execution of our sales commission programs. This role is responsible for owning the endtoend sales compensation administration process and ensuring commission plans and quotas are implemented accurately, consistently, and in alignment with company financial objectives.

The ideal candidate brings strong criticalthinking skills, a passion for data, and experience investigating and resolving complex compensation inquiries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer monthly and quarterly sales commission programs with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
  • Own the full sales compensation administration lifecycle, including:
    • Quota validation and uploads
    • Commission plan setup and maintenance
    • Commission calculations, payouts, adjustments, and manual incentives
    • Managing and resolving sales compensation inquiries
  • Investigate and resolve commission discrepancies through detailed data analysis
  • Partner crossfunctionally with Sales, Sales Operations, Finance, Payroll, and HR to ensure alignment and smooth execution
  • Maintain thorough documentation of commission plans, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure commission plans and quota structures support business goals and align with company financial objectives
  • Identify opportunities to improve compensation processes, controls, and reporting

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in sales compensation or commission administration, preferably within the software or technology industry
  • Strong data analysis and data manipulation skills; ability to work confidently with large and complex data sets
  • Demonstrated experience populating commission payments and supporting accurate payouts
  • Strong investigative and criticalthinking skills, with experience resolving data discrepancies
  • Highly detailoriented, organized, and able to manage recurring deadlines
  • Effective communicator with the ability to explain compensation outcomes clearly and professionally

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with sales compensation or CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, Xactly, CaptivateIQ, Varicent, or similar)
  • Familiarity with quota management processes and sales performance reporting
  • Experience supporting fastgrowing or global sales organizations
