They handle tasks such as managing sales data, developing reports, forecasting sales trends, and improving sales processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness. Their work helps sales teams make informed decisions, set realistic targets, and identify opportunities for growth. By bridging the gap between sales, marketing, and operations, they play a crucial role in driving revenue and organizational success.

How does a Sales Operations Analyst typically collaborate with sales teams and other departments?

Sales Operations Analysts work closely with sales teams to streamline processes, provide actionable insights through data analysis, and ensure that sales targets are supported by efficient systems. They often act as a bridge between sales, marketing, and finance departments, facilitating effective communication and alignment on key initiatives. Regular collaboration may involve participating in strategy meetings, generating performance reports, and supporting the implementation of new tools or processes. This cross-functional interaction helps drive productivity and ensures that all teams are working towards common business goals.

To thrive as a Sales Operations Analyst, you need strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a background in business, finance, or a related field, often supported by a bachelor’s degree. Familiarity with CRM software (such as Salesforce), data visualization tools (like Tableau), and advanced Excel skills are typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and adaptability help you collaborate across teams and respond to shifting priorities. These skills are vital for optimizing sales processes, providing actionable insights, and driving overall sales effectiveness.

  • Analyze sales data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve conversion rates and sales effectiveness

  • Support forecasting processes by maintaining data integrity and developing scalable reporting frameworks

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Customer Success, and Finance to align on key metrics and reporting standards

  • Help design and optimize sales processes, workflows, and tools to improve operational efficiency and scalability

  • Contribute to the development of a centralized knowledge base (e.g., enablement resources, documentation) to support sales productivity

  • Assist with implementation and adoption of new tools, systems, and processes, including user training and UAT

  • Take ownership of projects that drive automation, reduce manual reporting, and improve data accessibility

What Makes This a Growth Role
  • Exposure to full-funnel Revenue Operations (Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success)

  • Opportunity to move beyond reporting into strategic analysis and decision support

  • Hands-on experience improving forecasting models and pipeline management

  • Ownership of impactful projects that directly influence revenue growth

  • Mentorship and development toward a Senior Sales Ops / RevOps role

What You Bring

Required:

  • 1–3 years of experience in Sales Operations, Business Analytics, or similar role

  • Experience with Salesforce reporting and dashboard development

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in KPI tracking and performance reporting

  • Advanced Excel skills (data analysis, modeling, automation)

  • Ability to communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred:

  • Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Domo, etc.)

  • Familiarity with SQL or Python-based tools (e.g., Anaconda)

  • Exposure to SaaS metrics (ARR, pipeline, conversion rates, churn, etc.)

  • Experience supporting or working with go-to-market teams

Core Competencies

  • Dashboard Development & Data Visualization

  • CRM Reporting & Data Integrity

  • Process Optimization & Automation
