The Team

Proofpoint is looking for a motivated and experienced Senior Deal Desk Analyst to join our Deals Desk organization. This team partners closely with Sales, Finance, Revenue, Legal, Sales Operations, Order Management, Channel, Product Management, and other cross-functional teams to support accurate, compliant, and profitable deal structures across Proofpoint's sales organization.

The Deals Desk team serves as a trusted advisor to the business, helping ensure that customer transactions are structured, approved, documented, and processed efficiently while supporting Proofpoint's growth objectives and maintaining adherence to company policies.

The Role

As a Senior Deal Desk Analyst, you will be a key business partner to the North America Sales organization, supporting complex pricing, quoting, approval, and deal-structure requests. You will bring strong business acumen, analytical thinking, and operational discipline to help Sales teams navigate Proofpoint's quote-to-booking process.

This individual contributor role requires someone who can balance sales partnership with compliance, profitability, and operational excellence. You will review and assess deal structures, guide stakeholders through approval requirements, identify potential booking or revenue recognition issues, and help drive process improvements across Deal Desk operations.

Location: This role may be based in either Sunnyvale, CA or Draper, UT with 4 days in office

Your Day-to-Day

  • Partner with Sales as a trusted business advisor to review, assess, structure, and execute pricing and quoting requests.
  • Review quotes and deal structures for accuracy, pricing compliance, revenue recognition requirements, product configuration, discounting, and contractual alignment.
  • Facilitate approval workflows for discounts, non-standard terms, pricing exceptions, and other deal requirements.
  • Work closely with Sales, Finance, Revenue, Legal, Order Management, Sales Operations, Professional Services, Channel, and Product teams to ensure orders are processed accurately and efficiently.
  • Support new, renewal, add-on, and expansion opportunities by ensuring quote and deal alignment prior to booking.
  • Review and enforce quote compliance using Salesforce, CPQ, and related internal systems.
  • Help identify and resolve issues that may delay order processing, booking, or revenue recognition.
  • Ensure required approvals and supporting documentation are obtained, clearly documented, and compliant with company policy.
  • Analyze current and historical customer deal data to support pricing decisions, deal consistency, and revenue growth.
  • Provide guidance to Sales on deal structure, pricing strategy, product packaging, approval requirements, and operational best practices.
  • Partner with Channel and Partner teams to support consistent, mutually beneficial, and profitable deal structures.
  • Actively contribute to the improvement of Deal Desk processes, tools, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close activities with urgency, accuracy, and strong attention to detail.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams through email, meetings, and collaboration tools.

What You Bring to the Team

  • 5+ years of experience in Deal Desk, Pricing, Sales Operations, Sales Support, Order Management, Revenue Operations, or a related commercial operations function.
  • Experience supporting software, SaaS, subscription, or technology sales organizations; cybersecurity experience is a strong plus.
  • Strong understanding of quote-to-cash or quote-to-booking processes, including quoting, approvals, contracting, order processing, and revenue considerations.
  • Experience reviewing pricing, discounting, product configuration, contractual terms, and approval requirements.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to evaluate complex deal data and make sound business recommendations.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, especially during month-end and quarter-end periods.
  • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to balance sales objectives, compliance requirements, profitability, and operational efficiency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with Sales teams, cross-functional partners, and senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships across internal business units.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience using Salesforce and CPQ tools; advanced Excel or data analysis skills are highly preferred.
  • Understanding of different routes to market, including direct sales and channel partner models.
  • A proactive, collaborative, and solutions-oriented mindset with a desire to improve processes and support business growth.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a senior Deal Desk, Pricing, Revenue Operations, or Sales Operations role.
  • Experience with SaaS pricing models, subscription licensing, renewals, add-ons, and enterprise sales motions.
  • Familiarity with revenue recognition principles and order compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with Legal, Finance, Revenue, Channel, Professional Services, and Product teams.
  • Experience supporting enterprise technology or cybersecurity transactions.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and provide clear guidance in high-pressure deal cycles.
