Job Title: Associate Purchasing Analyst
Client: Sports Vehicle Manufacturing Company
Duration: 6 months + potential to extend
Location: Plymouth, MN 55442
Shift: Onsite for training (first 2-4 weeks), then hybrid upon manager discretion (likely onsite 2-3 days per week)

Job Summary:
Actively manage Parts, Garments & Accessories (PG&A) suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of products to Client distribution facilities.
Coordinate with demand planning analysts to ensure the proper quantities are purchased to achieve strategic inventory and service level objectives to meet customer needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Develop and foster relationships with select suppliers to drive consistent performance and improve back-order recovery
  • Review system-recommended purchase quantities, collaborating with demand planning analysts to improve accuracy
  • Approve purchase orders, ensure on-time delivery by reviewing expedite, defer, and cancel messages as necessary to achieve fill-rate and inventory goals
  • Resolve backorder issues in accordance with goals
  • Work directly with suppliers to ensure system data integrity (cost, MOQ, lead-time, etc.)
  • Negotiate cost, lead time, minimum, and economic order quantities to Client benefit
  • Coordinate and communicate with multiple departments to achieve business goals
  • Proactively identify and communicate urgent issues to supervisor
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

Skills & Knowledge:
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • 1+ year in supply chain management (MRP, logistics, and inventory management)
  • Intermediate Excel skills (Vlookups, Pivot Tables, Conditional Formatting)
  • High attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Organization and communication skills
  • Aptitude to solve problems and improve processes
  • Ability to negotiate, influence, and resolve conflict with diplomacy and partnership
  • Ability to work independently with a minimum level of supervision

Working Conditions:
Standard office environment with flexibility for working remotely upon manager's discretion.
