Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Analyst to join our purchasing team. This is an entry-level, in-person position ideal for candidates looking to begin a career in procurement, supply chain, or

operations. The Purchasing Analyst will support purchasing activities,

analyze purchasing data and assist with vendor coordination to ensure cost-effective and timely procurement of materials and services.
A Buyer works under general supervision; relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish tasks; a certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reviews purchasing data
  • Prepares internal statements and one-time reports
  • Prepares vendor score cards and information related to that vendor
  • Analyzes and documents options for procurement of materials
  • Develop detailed purchasing reporting
  • Recommend changes to the acquisition processes as needed
  • Tracks on time shipments
  • Develop a process to standardize the creation of product codes as needed
  • Gathers information from our systems and IS/IT department
  • Analyzes current inventory buying programs
  • Works with transportation department as needed
  • Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

Working knowledge and proficiency in the use of computer and business-related software, including Microsoft applications (Excel, Word and Outlook)
Have a sound understanding of finance and accounting principles
