Job description

Purchasing & Logistics Specialist

Pay: $18+/hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM | Friday, 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing & Logistics Specialist to support procurement, inventory, and shipping operations in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for sourcing materials, managing purchase orders, coordinating domestic and international shipments, and ensuring materials are available to support production. The ideal candidate has experience with ERP/MRP systems, strong organizational skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Source and evaluate vendors based on price, quality, and delivery
  • Create and manage purchase orders using ERP/MRP systems
  • Monitor inventory levels and purchase materials to support production schedules
  • Track orders, resolve supplier issues, and maintain purchasing records
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments with carriers, vendors, and customers
  • Prepare shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), Air Waybills (AWBs), invoices, and import/export paperwork
  • Obtain freight quotes, compare transportation costs, and schedule shipments
  • Track shipments, resolve transportation issues and communicate delivery updates
  • Process invoices and maintain accurate purchasing and shipping documentation
  • Work closely with production, warehouse, and accounting teams to ensure materials and shipments stay on schedule
Qualifications
  • Manufacturing purchasing experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and ERP systems required
  • Understanding of inventory control, freight coordination, and production planning
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
