Job description

Payroll Accountant


Apple Rehab
privately held, owns & operates 21 skilled nursing facilities within CT & RI. We have an opportunity available for a Payroll Accountant to provide support to the HR & financial department by managing HR/Payroll & accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting principles, strong software skills, extensive payroll background & excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and post weekly facility payrolls for 21 buildings

  • Run and submit bank reports

  • Prepare & submit payroll tax files

  • Receive/Review/Enter manual payroll check & replacement check requests

  • Process monthly/quarterly journal entries including payroll, 401k, garnishments, HSA, tax filing submissions, etc.

  • Annual processing of W2's

  • Generate, analyze, and distribute financial and payroll reports to leadership team as needed

Qualifications required:

  • Accounting or Human Resource Degree preferred

  • Minimum 2 yrs combined experience in Payroll & Bookkeeping or Accounting

  • Advanced skills in Excel including formulas & pivot tables, data analysis & reporting capabilities

  • Exceptional attention to details, prioritization & organization

  • Experienced in payroll processing, tax filings, and data reconciliation
