Job description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll & Bookkeeping Clerk/ Human Resource Assistant in Hauppauge, NY. We are looking for a highly driven person with a positive attitude to become a part of our team. The primary responsibility of this position is the processing of payroll across all of the company’s locations. This position should have 3-5 years of Human Resource/Payroll experience, with bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred. In addition to human resource and payroll duties, this position will also be responsible for certain bookkeeping and accounting functions. In this role you will help to ensure that employees have a happy and productive workplace where everyone works to realize their established mission and objectives.

Responsibilities:

· Assist in the processing of multi-state biweekly payroll through payroll system by entering new hires, updating employee information, terminations, etc.

· Process and administer all facets of foreign monthly payroll. Small number of employees in Australia, Germany, and India.

· Manage online time clock system.

· Review and ensure accuracy of timesheets.

· Track vacation/sick accruals and balances to ensure accuracy.

· Review expenses for employees for processing.

· Perform routine bookkeeping functions, including recording journal entries and maintaining the general ledger.

· Process accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconcile bank and credit card statements on a monthly basis.

· Assist with month-end and year-end close, including preparation of supporting schedules and reports.

· Provide recruitment assistance by reviewing resumes, setting up interviews, conducting background checks.

· Assist with the onboarding of new hires.

· Maintain associates’ files.

· Perform general office administrative work, including scanning.

· Coordinate and schedule travel accommodations.

· Be willing to take on additional responsibilities as the business continues to grow.

Skills:

· Must have excellent problem solving, reasoning, and time management abilities.

· Excellent verbal and written communications skills, interpersonal and coaching skills.

· Must be detail-oriented and work well under pressure and have the flexibility to deal with multiple changing priorities.

· Demonstrated ability to use discretion and good judgment and maintain confidentiality.

· Computer proficiency, MS Word, Excel.

· Knowledge of payroll systems.

· Working knowledge of bookkeeping and general accounting principles; experience with accounting software a plus.
