Job description

Bookkeeper / Controller:

A growing construction-related manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper/Controller to manage day-to-day accounting and financial operations. This role will work closely with ownership, office staff, and external CPA firms to ensure accurate financial reporting, payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, tax filings, and compliance activities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including A/P, A/R, payroll, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries.
  • Process payroll for approximately 40 employees and maintain PTO and attendance records.
  • Prepare financial reports, assist with month-end and year-end close, and support external accountants with financial statements and tax reporting.
  • Handle sales tax filings, workers' compensation reporting, vendor payments, and account reconciliations.
  • Maintain accounting records, employee benefits administration, and various business compliance filings.


Qualifications:

  • Full-charge bookkeeping or small business accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience in construction, manufacturing, or related industries preferred.
  • Familiarity with purchase orders, job costing, and AIA billing processes is a plus.
