Essential Functions
  • General Ledger Management: Maintain the firm’s general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and completed in a timely manner.
  • Reconciliations amp; Financial Accuracy: Perform monthly bank account and credit card reconciliations, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Accounts Payable amp; Receivable: Process accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including invoice entry, payment processing, collections follow-up, and vendor coordination.
  • Journal Entries amp; Adjustments: Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and financial adjustments in accordance with firm policies and accounting standards.
  • Month-End amp; Year-End Close Support: Assist with monthly and annual close processes, ensuring the completeness, accuracy, and organization of financial information.
  • Financial Documentation amp; Recordkeeping: Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation in alignment with firm standards and operational best practices.
  • Internal Reporting Support: Assist in the preparation of internal financial reports, schedules, and supporting analyses for firm leadership review.
  • External Coordination: Collaborate with external accountants and firm leadership to support tax filings, audits, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Cash Flow amp; Budget Monitoring: Monitor cash flow activity and assist with tracking firm expenses, budgeting, and operational financial metrics.
  • Process Improvement Initiatives: Identify and recommend opportunities to improve bookkeeping processes, internal controls, workflow efficiency, and financial reporting accuracy.
  • Technology amp; Operational Support: Utilize accounting software and emerging tools to improve efficiency, organization, and day-to-day operational effectiveness.
Qualifications
  • Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience considered.
  • Experience: 3–5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience required, preferably within a professional services or public accounting environment.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and financial reporting processes.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with accounting software required; QuickBooks experience strongly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, with the ability to learn firm-specific systems and tools efficiently.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy, organization, and analytical skills with a strong commitment to maintaining reliable financial records.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
