General Ledger Accountant Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented General Ledger (GL) Accountant to join our corporate accounting team. You will manage daily accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and drive the month-end closing process. This role is collaborative and requires sharp analytical skills to support our business.

General Ledger Accountant Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Transactional processing: Review and posting of daily transactional activity
  • Month-End Close: Execute month-end and year-end closing processes efficiently.
  • Journal Entries: Prepare and post accurate journal entries with proper documentation.
  • Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank, balance sheet, and intercompany account reconciliations.
  • Variance Analysis: Analyze financial statement variances and investigate discrepancies.
  • Audit Support: Prepare schedules and documentation for external financial audits.

General Ledger Accountant Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of progressive general ledger accounting experience.
