We are seeking a Media Analyst to work in Arlington, VA (mostly remote, 2 days on-site per month). Responsibilities: Research and analyze domestic and international news to produce in-depth issue examinations. Use superb communication skills (verbal and written) to prepare briefings, executive summaries, communications assessments, and related products for senior government and military officials.

Leverage media listening tools to analyze, detect, and monitor trends and specific engagements across major social media networks and news sites. Monitor and identify short and long-term trends as it relates to officials' issues of interest and communicate them in written products and emails. Create documents to prepare executives for media interviews.Education: Baccalaureate degree from an accredited university or college is required with emphasis in at least one of the aforementioned areas (media analysis, communications, international affairs, market research, or related areas) Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities: Minimum of two (2) years of verifiable experience in the fields of media analysis, communications, international affairs, market research, or related areas

This experience can be a combination of study and work experience. Proficiency with research and analytical software tools. Advanced skills in applying software for anticipatory, ongoing, and last-minute research and analysis, including identifying top-line trends, sub-trends, and delivering concise, accurate reports or verbal presentations.

Ability to conduct media analysis, including synthesizing and reporting on domestic and foreign media coverage related to the Department of Defense (DoD) and other national security agencies within the Executive Branch, such as the Department of State. Basic knowledge of the DoD's structure, functions, and major policies as articulated by senior officials and spokespersons. Ability to work effectively under deadline pressure, both independently and as part of a research and analysis team.
