Position Summary:

The Media Monitoring & Analytics Specialist will be responsible for monitoring, tracking, and reporting all earned, owned, and paid media brand mentions globally. This position is responsible for maintaining and aggregating data from searches to efficiently support and alert the Global Communications team. This role will serve as the main point of contact for ongoing and timely global social listening and media monitoring (including day-to-day monitoring, crisis situations and proactive trend spotting). This position will also analyze and report on key media scorecard metrics for external platforms and employee engagement across internal platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Global Social Listening: monitor owned and paid social media for brand mentions, comments, direct messages, etc. (including but not limited to social media, YouTube, Glassdoor, news outlets, blogs and other digital mediums). Monitor brands, leaders' and social media accounts for unusual activities.
  • Monitor global earned media for brand mentions, financial performance, rankings, etc. (news outlets, blogs, online forums, and traditional media sources such as broadcast tv and audio). Monitor and track all coverage (including but not limited to press releases, interviews and feature stories) for both McCormick and the competitive and peer landscape.
  • Summarizefindings and generate reports on key issues, audience sentiments, volume of conversation, etc. Report out on key monthly, quarterly and yearly scorecard metrics across media channels. Analyze and aggregate insights from data for future communications. Measure impact of communication activities and report back to stakeholders on key learnings.
  • Utilize social listening platforms to proactively track and identify the latest global issues and trends related to the food and CPG industry. Assess impact of socioeconomic events and platform trends.
  • Build, maintain and update search queries and dashboards using Boolean operators and key words related to McCormick. Determinedashboard refresh cycle requirements and SOPs for monitoring.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Marketing/Communications, Digital Media, Public Relations, or related field
  • 2 years previous experience with media monitoring tools and setting up dashboards.
  • Expert in setting up and maintaining Boolean Queries.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and organization skills. Proficiency with MS Excel, Power Point & Word.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask effectively and meet competing deadlines.
  • Must maintain high level of attention to detail and desire to improve the status quo.
  • Knowledge of technical activities and procedures to perform duties.
  • Understands how duties contribute to the work of the team.
  • Exercises discretion regarding data points and method of evaluation.
  • Decision making, self confidence, effective communication, and collaboration.
  • Technical-Technical / Functional Proficiency Professional-High Performance / Achieving Results
  • BA in Marketing, Communications, Data Analytics or related (preferred)
  • Experience using Brandwatch, Cision and Tableau is a plus.
