Job description

Summary: This position is primarily responsible for ensuring personalized, responsive care, and quality services to patients coming through the Intake Clinic. Optimize Intake productivity. Focus team on making patients feel welcome, ensuring all initial testing is completed competently, closing gaps in care and optimizing the identification of high-risk diagnoses. Seeks other activities such as assisting all family practice clinics with pending HEDIS measures and working RMH reports, to attain this outcome. Encourage the professional growth and development of the team.
Duties:
All duties performed will be done accurately and in a timely manner.
  1. Plans, administers and directs services rendered at the Intake clinic in conjunction with Gonzaba's Medical Directors who provide the standing orders that Intake operates under and Clinic Physicians.
  2. Designs workflows and monitors patient flow at the clinic to minimize wait time, ensure the availability of services and efficient utilization of resources.
  3. Ensures customer service is maintained at the highest level at all times.
  4. Establishes goals and objectives for employees to follow with specific deadlines for meeting such goals.
  5. Directs staff in methods of developing and achieving performance objectives and applies corrective action as needed.
  6. Provides leadership and support to staff. Encouraging professional growth and development of clinical/organizational skills.
  7. Ensures clinics compliance to company policies and procedures.
  8. Ensures compliance with Regulatory Agencies' guidelines.
  9. Oversees maintenance and repair of medical and office equipment used by Intake.
  10. Assist patients with problems or concerns as may arise.
  11. Provides a clean and safe clinic environment for employees and patients.
  12. Interviews, hires, trains and terminates clinic staff as needed.
  13. Monitors employee's performance, conducting counseling and disciplinary actions, as applicable.
  14. Conducts annual performance evaluations of all clinic staff.
  15. Conducts / participates with other Clinic leaders and Physicians to ensure clinics policies and procedures are implemented.
  16. Performs duties of absent employees when situation demands.
  17. Responsible for providing assistance in the development of a budget for their respective clinic, for maintaining quality control, for the development of profit opportunities for the organization.
  18. Provides expertise and assistance in assigned areas.
  19. Develops improved management techniques and practices.
  20. Resolves any departmental administrative problems and keeps lines of communication with staff open.
  21. Maintains strict confidentiality
  22. Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience: A graduate of an accredited LVN program and possess a current TX LVN License, related associate's degree or Medical assistant diploma from an accredited vocational institution, a community college course in medical assisting or military equivalent training required. CPR/Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification required. Basic understanding of case management, quality management, utilization management and risk management preferred. Must be able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms.
Computer Skills: Knowledge of word-processing software, spreadsheet software; Internet software and database software
Work Environment: Depending upon the area assigned, may be 100% clinical setting or office setting in a clinical environment. Exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
Physical Demands: Requires manual dexterity, sitting, standing, stooping, reaching, kneeling, crouching, bending, walking, lifting up to 25 lbs. Close vision and ability to adjust focus.
