About our Development Operations Manager position

Under the general supervision and direction of the Director of Annual Giving, the Development Operations Manager oversees and manages all Development data entry, processes, and reporting, as well as developing and implementing new processes as needed to improve fundraising effectiveness and efficiency.ย 

ย 

What will you be doing!

The Development Operations Manager will lead the systems, data, and compliance thatย supportsย both PPGNHAIK and PPAA fundraising programs. This role has primary ownership of the Raiser's Edge database, including administration, reporting, dashboard development, and data integrity, and directly supervises two Database Specialists and a Prospect Researcher. The Managerย servesย as the team's subject-matter expert on data governance, gift processing, and regulatory requirements.

ย 

Key Responsibilities:

ย 

Database Administrationย 

  • Serve as the administrator of the Raiser's Edge database, overseeing system configuration, user permissions, constituent record structure, and data architecture.
  • Establish and enforce database standards, data entry protocols, and naming conventions.
  • Manage software updates, integrations, and third-party plug-ins connected to Raiser's Edge.
  • Oversee data hygiene, including deduplication, NCOA updates, and data audits.

Reporting & Dashboard Development

  • Design, build, andย maintainย queries, exports, and reports that support fundraising, finance, and executive decision-making.
  • Develop andย maintainย real-time dashboards (e.g., via Raiser's Edge NXT, Power BI, or similar tools) tracking revenue, pipeline, and KPI performance for staff development and leadership.
  • Partner with the Development Leadership Teamย to translateย dataย needs intoย accurate, actionableย reports forย leadership,ย Board of Directors, audit, and grant compliance purposes.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve reporting to increase efficiency.

Gift Processing & Revenue Operations

  • Oversee theย timelyย andย accurateย processing and reconciliation of all gifts, pledges, and other revenue types.
  • Partner with the Finance department on monthly and annual revenue reconciliation, ensuring development and finance figuresย remainย aligned.
  • Oversee the acknowledgment and tax-receipting process.
  • Stay current on nonprofit compliance requirements, including charitableย solicitationย registration, gift acceptance policies, and donor privacy regulations.
  • Maintain documentation of internal controls and compliance procedures for development operations; support internal and external audits as needed.

Prospect Research Oversight

  • Provide direction and supervision to the Prospect Researcher, ensuring research priorities align with major gift, mid-level,ย annual, and institutionalย giving strategies.
  • Ensure prospect research findings, wealth screening data, and ratings are captured in the database.
  • Supportย prospectย pipelinesย growthย and portfolio assignments in partnership withย the philanthropy team.

Team Management

  • Directly supervise two Database Specialists and a Prospect Researcher, providing clear direction, coaching, and professional development support.
  • Establish workflows, documentation, and cross-training.
  • Conduct regular one-on-ones and annual performance reviews for direct reports.

Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuousย growth

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervisesย Databaseย Specialists and Prospect Researcher, orย similarย positions. Provides daily work direction, approves time sheets, administer performance reviews, andย participatesย in employment decisions.

ย 

Minimum Qualifications:ย ย 

BA/BS in related field required

Five yearsโ€™ experience with Raiserโ€™s Edgeย required, includingย experienceย managing large-scale data manipulation, building complex queries and reports, and working directly with support technicians.

Extensive experienceย in Excel, dashboard adjustments andย datasetย combing preferred.

Project management experience.

ย 

Salary Range:

$64,677 - $110,000 - Annually

*Actual starting pay will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, internal equity, geographic location, and the budgeted hiring range established for the position.

Remote position within our 6 states - Full- time
