Overview

The Director of Development Operations provides strategic and operational leadership for the systems, processes, and infrastructure that power fundraising across Community Health System. You will oversee prospect development, pipeline management, donor systems, gift processing, stewardship operations, and volunteer support.

This role is part of a broader transformation of the Development function, with significant investment in strengthening infrastructure and expanding community engagement. You will play a key role in building scalable, data-driven operations that enable long-term philanthropic growth.

Responsibilities

As the Director of Development Operations, you will lead a team that powers a high-impact philanthropy program dedicated to advancing care, expanding access and strengthening our community.

  • Lead development operations functions, including prospect development, pipeline management, donor systems, gift processing, stewardship, and volunteer support
  • Design and implement scalable processes and infrastructure to support fundraising growth and operational efficiency
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to track pipeline health, operational performance, and fundraising outcomes
  • Oversee financial administration of donor funds, ensuring compliance with donor intent and organizational policies
  • Evaluate and implement technology solutions to modernize operations and enhance analytics capabilities
  • Lead, develop, and coach a high-performing operations team

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or related field required
  • 5 years of experience in development operations, advancement services, fundraising infrastructure, or related field required
  • Experience managing teams and overseeing multiple operational functions required
  • Proven track record of overseeing financial operations related to charitable giving, included restricted funds, budgeting, and donor intent compliance required
