Position Overview

As Baby2Baby enters a period of significant growth and opportunity, we seek a strategic, analytical, and solutions-oriented Director of Development Operations to lead and strengthen the infrastructure that supports our fundraising efforts.


This individual will play a critical role in building and optimizing the systems, processes, reporting, and operational strategies necessary to support and sustain more than $20 million in annual individual and foundation revenue. Working closely with the VP of Development, VP of Major Gifts, Finance team, and Development staff, the Director of Development Operations will ensure the organization has the tools, data, and operational excellence needed to drive fundraising success.


The ideal candidate is a collaborative and proactive leader with deep expertise in development operations, CRM management, fundraising analytics, gift administration, donor stewardship processes, and team leadership. This individual will bring a continuous improvement mindset, strong project management skills, and a commitment to data-driven decision-making.


This individual will work Monday-Friday at Baby2Baby HQ in Los Angeles, CA. The work is performed in an office setting and is currently on site 3 – 5 days per week.

Duties and Responsibilities


Main Position Objectives

  • Oversees the operational systems and infrastructure that support Development’s fundraising program, currently generating $20M+ individual and foundation gifts annually.
  • Ensures the integrity, accuracy, and effective use of donor and fundraising data across the organization.
  • Oversees the organization’s fundraising technology ecosystem, including the CRM.
  • Develops reporting, dashboards, KPIs, and forecasting tools that support fundraising performance and strategic decision-making.
  • Strengthens donor stewardship processes, prospect management, campaign readiness, and revenue operations.
  • Oversees prospect research, donor intelligence, and executive briefing processes to surface funding opportunities and equip leadership and fundraising staff.


Development Operations Strategy & Implementation

  • Leads the strategic planning, execution, and continuous improvement of development operations to support organizational fundraising goals and sustainable revenue growth.
  • Oversees administration, optimization, and integration of the organization’s fundraising CRM (Little Green Light) and related technology platforms, ensuring data integrity, system effectiveness, and user adoption.
  • Establishes and maintains best practices for donor data management, gift processing, prospect tracking, and stewardship workflows.
  • Oversees operational processes related to gift administration, grant and stewardship reporting requirements, pledge tracking, naming agreements, tax acknowledgement processes, and fundraising compliance.
  • Oversees revenue tracking, campaign attribution, gift coding standards, reconciliation, and reporting in partnership with Development and Finance leadership.
  • Maintains the wealth screening, relationship mapping and operational infrastructure that equip leadership for briefings, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and campaign planning.
  • Identifies opportunities to streamline and automate processes, improve operational efficiency, and enhance the donor experience through technology and workflow improvements.
  • Partners with Development leadership and cross-functional teams across the organization, to align systems, reporting, operational priorities, and fundraising processes.
  • Supports organizational growth initiatives, fundraising campaigns, and future capital campaign operations by ensuring scalable operational infrastructure and reporting capabilities.


Reporting, Analytics, & Revenue Operations

  • Delivers reporting and analytics that turn fundraising performance, donor retention, pipeline health, and campaign effectiveness into actionable insight for leadership decision-making.
  • Analyzes fundraising trends and donor behavior to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Gathers and organizes the information needed to inform development revenue forecasting and budgeting, and builds the budget in partnership with Development and Finance leadership.
  • Produces reports and presentations for Executive Leadership, Board committees, and key stakeholders.
  • Establishes measurable performance indicators and accountability structures across development operations functions.


Management

  • Leads, mentors, and develops the Development Operations function and team.
  • Establishes clear goals, priorities, and performance expectations.
  • Fosters collaboration across Development, Finance, Programs, Marketing, and Executive Leadership.
  • Creates and maintains operational procedures, documentation, and training resources that support consistency and scalability.
  • Serves as an operational thought partner to the VP, Development on fundraising infrastructure, systems and reporting.


Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in development operations, advancement services, fundraising operations, or nonprofit management.
  • 4+ years of experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience supporting diverse fundraising revenue streams, including individual, corporate, foundation, and event fundraising.
  • Proven success building and scaling development operations infrastructure, including CRM administration, donor data management, gift processing, prospect management, stewardship, and reporting.
  • Strong expertise in fundraising analytics, KPI development, dashboard creation, revenue forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting.
  • Experience overseeing prospect research, donor intelligence, relationship mapping, and executive donor briefings.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements, implement scalable solutions, and bring innovative approaches to development operations, with flexibility, initiative, and a roll-up-your sleeves mindset.
  • Experience partnering with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to drive organizational goals.
  • Proficiency with fundraising CRM platforms (e.g., Little Green Light, Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical, project management, written, and verbal communication skills.
