Job Summary:ย 

ESP is looking for a detail-oriented, coachable intern who is interested in fundraising, nonprofit development, and foundation work. This role is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting the day-to-day operations of a mission-driven development team while learning best practices in donor relations, grant funding, and fundraising strategy.

The intern will assist with donor and data management in Salesforce, conduct grant and foundation research, support fundraising and donor stewardship initiatives, and help create documents and systems that improve the efficiency of our development team. The ideal candidate is organized, eager to learn, enjoys working with data and processes, and is excited to contribute to work that helps advance ESP's mission.

Founded in 1986 in Watkinsville, Georgia, ESP exists to create transformative experiences for people with disabilities and their families and change communities for the better. Detailed Functions, Responsibilities & Skills:

  • Donor & Data Management. Assist with updating and maintaining Salesforce records.
  • Grant Research & Support. Help gather information and conduct background research on potential funders or for active applications.
  • Support Fundraising Initiatives. Assist the development team with fundraising efforts by preparing outreach materials and supporting donor engagement and stewardship activities.
  • Administrative. Support creation of development-related documents and streamline operations and efforts of full-time staff.

Experience/Preferred Requirements:ย 

  • Current college student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, marketing, public administration, philanthropy, or a related field.
  • Interest in fundraising, nonprofit organizations, philanthropy, or foundation relations.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Coachable with a willingness to learn new systems and processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; experience with Salesforce or other CRM/database systems is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Passion for ESP's mission and a desire to make a meaningful impact.
